SharePoint document libraries allow you to quickly drag files from your computer and drop them in a library. I recently ran into a situation where I needed similar functionality for attachments on a SharePoint list item. I assumed the functionality was built-in and I was rather surprised to find out that it didn’t work natively.
Use the built-in “Grant access to an item or folder” action in Power Automate to assign more than just Edit and View access in SharePoint.
A client asked: “We have users that raise concerns that secure files may surface in search or on the people cards. They are worried others in the organization might be able to see files that they should not have access to. Can we disable surfacing files in these areas?”
My Answer…
I have been meaning to document what happens when you use the various move and copy operations in SharePoint. So, this weekend I set out to do that. I was not really expecting to find any surprises. I was wrong.
